Privacy Policy

Last updated 31 July 2026

This policy covers two separate things: the WillPower mobile app and this website. They handle data very differently, so they are described separately.

The App

The app has no accounts, no sign-in and no server. Everything you record — your builders, difficulty ratings, completions, notes, streaks, trial durations and settings — is written to a SQLite database stored locally on your device.

  • We cannot see your data. There is no back end for it to reach. Nothing is uploaded, synced or backed up to us.
  • No analytics on your habits. The app does not report what you tracked, when you opened it or what you completed.
  • No advertising and no third-party trackers are embedded in the app.
  • Notifications are scheduled locally by your device using the reminder times you set. No reminder passes through a server.
  • Deleting the app deletes the data. This is worth knowing before you start: uninstalling removes the local database, and because we never had a copy, we cannot restore it.

Your device platform (Google Play, and in future the App Store) may collect its own installation and crash data under its own policies. We receive only the aggregate, anonymised figures those platforms show every developer — install counts and crash reports, never anything tied to an individual.

This Website

The website is a static site. It sets no cookies, embeds no third-party scripts and runs no advertising or behavioural analytics, which is why you were not asked to accept anything when you arrived.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store:

  • the email address you enter
  • which platform you selected, so we email you about the right one
  • which part of the site you signed up from, and the domain (not the full address) of any page that referred you
  • the date and time of the signup

That data is used for one purpose: to email you about the WillPower launch and occasional related notes. It is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

The lawful basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or by emailing hello@willpowerapp.com.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records requests — IP address, timestamp, the page requested and the user agent — for security and rate limiting. These logs are kept briefly and are not used to build a profile of you.

Your Rights

If you are in the UK or the EU, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you the right to access, correct, export or erase the personal data we hold, and to object to its processing. Since the only personal data we hold is a waitlist email address, in practice this means: email hello@willpowerapp.com and ask, and we will confirm within 30 days.

Your habit data is not covered by these requests for the simple reason that we do not have it. It is on your phone.

Children

WillPower is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect waitlist signups from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and anyone on the waitlist will be told by email before the change takes effect.
